A C Ward & Sons v Catlin (Five) and others: Court of Appeal 10 September 2009. A C Ward owned a warehouse from which professional burglars stole cigarettes and alcohol worth approximately £450,000. It made a claim under its multiline commercial contract of insurance with Catlin for theft of the stock. The policy contained two warranties: a burglar alarm warranty and a protection and maintenance warranty.
